My book, Patchwork Promises, became available to buy on Amazon today. It was a very exciting day! I can't wait to get a copy!!! I'm also a little nervous. What if people hate it! But then I have to remember that it is a piece of fiction that I'm hoping will help in some way to depict the character of God. I prayed a lot as I was writing it. And even if many people dislike it, who knows but that someone somewhere will get something more out of it. God has the power to use anything, even possibly poorly written fiction to influence lives and bring others to Him. I am in His hands. The things I do are in His hands. It does not matter what others think. Only what God thinks. In the meantime I will try not to worry what anyone else thinks... unless they like it... that's another story. :)

I just found out yesterday that my cousin died in a motorcycle accident. He wasn't too much older than me. Really hits home and made me think. Our lives are so fleeting. What are we doing with them? Will anyone even notice when we're no longer here? My husband says to live like Ecclesiastes--eat and enjoy the fruits of our labors for tomorrow we die. But I think we are meant to do more, much more. I think our purpose is in what we do for others. Our legacy is in our children. We pass down our values, our love, our dreams in them. And they will pass them down to their children. Beyond our children, every time we do something for someone else, it is memorable. We don't know what small things we do that may have a huge impact in someone else's life. It is these things that will survive long after we are gone.
