When I want to incorporate math, reading, and cleaning all together, my oldest son (5 years) likes to play a cleaning game. I look around the house to see what needs to be picked up and then write a slip of paper for each item and put the slips into a cup for him to draw one at a time. He reads each one. I incorporate math by having him add to find out how many of that item to pick up. Sample slips could be:
Put away 3+7 crayons.
Put 2+1 cups in the sink.
Put away 8+5 legos.
Put 2+2 dirty clothes in the laundry basket.
This lets us clean up while doing school, and he likes this much better than sitting down and reading books or doing worksheets.
