Japanese Tea Party

I helped Marion Pielaet with this party for her daughter's birthday. I got ideas from Parents magazine, Family Fun magazine, and some websites online. I don't remember where I found the idea for this cup invitation, but it was on a website. These are all pictures from the planning process. I was unable to attend the actual party, but Marion said the girls LOVED it!

INVITATIONS:
We cut out the front and back of a teacup, glued hemp string inside and attached the other end of the hemp to the square of paper used as a tea bag.

KIMONO:
We cut a sheet, used stamps on the front, and green tulle for the belt.

Origami Quesadillas

Sushi

ACTIVITIES:
Paper Sandals--each girl made sandals by tracing her feet on paper bags and adding a thin strip of paper for the strap.

Origami--each girl made a paper fan and purse

DECORATIONS:

Origami swans hanging from light over table, nice white cloth tablecloth, and real china for the girls to use for their tea.
