I periodically receive free books from Bethany House in exchange for writing a review on Amazon and on my blog.
Short-Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer
I rarely give 5 stars, but this was definitely a 5 star book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It caught my attention from the first page and held it until the end. I really liked the first chapter that showed the characters' first interaction as children, and it was believable how the one interaction would cause the heroine, Meredith, to take such a risk as an adult in going to warn Travis of impending danger. The characters were well defined and thought out, and I really liked all of them. It made sense how each character would act and respond in the various situations. I really warmed to Meredith's bravery and courage. Overall, it was a fairly quick and fun read.
This book was provided to me free by Bethany House to review. The content of the review is entirely my own.
