Stranded by Dani Pettrey
I am a reviewer for Bethany House and receive free books in exchange for reviewing. This review is for the book Stranded by Dani Pettrey. It is the third book in the series and is about an investigative reporter who is trying to figure out what happened to her friend on a cruise ship. She is helped by the adventure excursion coordinator who she met several months prior (in book #2) when she helped him investigate a case his brother was involved in.
This Christian fiction book catches your attention from the beginning with the scene of Darcy's friend, Abby, trying to escape. The book held my attention pretty good, but I lost interest some in the middle. It is a good follow-up from the last book where we started to see the relationship developing between Gage and Darcy. This book is several months later when the characters are thrown together as they try to uncover what happened to Darcy's friend.
The characters were very well developed and believable. There were some things I didn't really like about the characters, but they were still believable. For example, Gage is very opposed to Darcy being an investigative reporter and is disapproving even though Darcy is only there to try to figure out what happened to her friend. Darcy also makes some unwise choices that put her in harms way, such as when she goes off by herself twice with a guy--especially when the guy sometimes creeps her out. Overall, though, I liked their characters.
Overall, this was a good continuation of the series and I enjoyed it!
